Qatar crowned Arab handball champions, Kuwait stand third

KUWAIT: In a very competitive match, Qatar claimed the Championship of the 10th Arab Handball Championship, defeating Bahrain 25-22. The match went back and forth until the very last minutes when the Qatari players defended well and thwarted all Bahrain's attempts to score with a highly efficient defence.
Earlier, the Kuwaiti handball team, playing in front of a full house of enthusiastic fans, claimed third place by beating Egypt with a score of 29-25 in the third-place match at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports complex in the tournament, which was hosted by Kuwait since May 5 and concluded on Sunday.

Kuwait players were not up to expectations, allowing the Egyptians who are participating with its young players, to go head to head with them, as the first half ended in a draw 11-11.
The second half was dominated by Kuwaiti players, contrary to their form in the first half, expanding the goal difference with ease, ending the match in their favor 29-25 and claiming third place in the Arab championship. Kuwait team player Saif Al-Adwani won the man of the match award. Tunisia beat UAE 32-30, while Iraq won against Morocco 28-26 in matches to determine the fifth to eighth places.
