Burlington Pine Street traffic pattern changes cancelled

Update: All closures listed for Thursday, June 12 have been cancelled. Traffic on Pine Street will not change to previously reported pattern written below. BURLINGTON, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) – As work continues on the Champlain Parkway Project, traffic patterns will change within the work area Thursday, June 12. Some new traffic patterns near the Soda Plant will likely be in place for only one day, according to Vermont's Department of Public Safety. Specifically, the area between Soda Plants 'northern most driveway' and Kilburn Street will have two-way traffic with lane shifts. All northbound traffic within this area is restricted to local traffic. Champlain Parkway raises downtown traffic concerns Pine street within this area will be mostly restricted to southbound traffic. Non-local northbound thru traffic will be detoured to from Kilburn Street to St. Paul Street. These changes are predicted to last until 7:00 p.m. June 12, but may continue until the following day. Additionally, other changes will occur between Kilburn Street and Maple Street, as crews will reportedly begin removing sidewalk curb. Crews will be working north to south along the west-side of Pine Street. Two-lane traffic will continue by shifting drivers toward the roadway's east side.
