Texas A&M head football coach Mike Elko and his staff have been active on the recruiting trail, working to bring several prospects to Bryan-College Station. On Thursday afternoon, it was announced that 2026 four-star safety Chance Collins has committed to Texas A&M. He becomes the 14th commitment in the 2026 class and the first safety. This is a significant pickup for the Aggies, who will need depth at the defensive back position with several upperclassmen on the roster. Texas A&M beat out top programs like Michigan State, Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech for Collins's commitment, with him stating, "What's up AggieLand I'm home. Gig'Em" His junior season concluded with a Texas 5A D2 state first-round exit, along with 20 tackles, two tackles for loss, and six interceptions. A top-350 recruit, Hamiel is currently ranked as the 323rd prospect in the 2026 class, the 31st-ranked Safety, and the No. 40 prospect in Texas by On3. 2026 4-star safety out of Arlington (TX) will announce commitment on Wednesday Texas A&M is yet again a finalist for another rising prospect in the 2026 recruiting cycle, as four-star safety Chance Collins is down to four programs, including Texas A&M, Utah, Texas Tech, and West Virginia, who are all anticipating his decision, which will come down on Wednesday, June 11. Any time a defensive back prospect heavily considers the Aggies, it's fair to remember that the coach Mike Elko and defensive back coaches Jordan Peterson and Ishmael Aristide are three of the top cornerback and safety recruiters in the country, including Elko's long development track going back to his defensive coordinator days at Bowling Green, Notre Dame, and Texas A&M. Collins will take an official visit to Texas A&M on June 20, a month after his official visit to Utah on May 30. This is good news for the Aggies, who will be the final stop for Collins this summer, a solid sign for the team in the lead. During his 2024 junior season, Collins showed off his versatility after recording 20 tackles, two tackles for loss, six interceptions, and eight pass breakups. On offense, Collins caught 16 passes for 310 yards and two touchdowns. The Mansfield Timberview incoming senior is also a noted track star, which also plays in Texas A&M's favor, given the program's elite status. According to 247Sports, Collins is currently positioned as the 35th-ranked safety and the 56th-ranked prospect in Texas. MSU Football offers Texas 2026 ATH Chance Collins
Michigan State football has extended an offer to an under-the-radar athlete from the Lone Star State. Chance Collins of Arlington, Texas announced on Friday that he's received an offer from the Spartans. Collins made the offer known by posting on social media platform X. Collins is not ranked on 247Sports. He plays for Mansfield Timberview and is part of the 2026 class. Michigan State is one of six schools to extend an offer to Collins, according to 247Sports. He also holds offers from Utah, Texas Tech, West Virginia, Oregon State and Arkansas State.
