Villa d'Este on the shores of Italy's Lake Como was the entirely non-quotidian setting for the latest Chanel Cruise show on Tuesday. The storied hotel, built in the 16th century for a wealthy cardinal (whoever the new pope is might like to take note), played host to 900 of Chanel's most valuable clients. Also in the audience were a number of celebrities, including established names such as Keira Knightley, Lupita Nyong'o and Sofia Coppola, alongside newly minted ones. Among the latter was Margaret Qualley, the daughter of Andie MacDowell, whose star rose last year when she starred alongside Demi Moore in The Substance. Through the lens of renowned American filmmaker Sofia Coppola, we are swept away to the shores of Lake Como, Italy, to celebrate the Chanel Cruise 2025/26 show Chanel is bringing its Cruise 2025/26 show to the idyllic shores of Lake Como, Italy on April 29, 2025. To set the scene, the French fashion house tasked celebrated filmmaker Sofia Coppola to shoot a short film that captures the essence of the getaway destination notably backdropped by the French Alps. Starred by model Ida Heiner, the dreamy, sun streaked cinematography by Coppola takes place at Villa d'Esta—Lake Como's legendary hotel and a former Renaissance patrician residence built in 1568. Influenced by the director's knack for depicting womanhood in a bona fide manner, Heiner traverses the set's sumptuous marble staircases, opulent rooms and an ochre-toned terrace that overlooks the lake. Dressed in escapade-ready pieces from the upcoming Chanel Cruise 2025/26 collection, the moving images pause time, allowing us to reflect upon our ability to continually self-invent ourselves and bring our daydreams into fruition. This notion of being able to discover new personas and identities through changing one's environment has always grounded Chanel's Cruise shows. It is believed that the French house's founder Gabrielle Chanel pioneered luxury fashion's embrace of resort wear when she decided to present her first Cruise collection outside of the typical seasonal fashion schedule in 1919. Before Northern Italy's Lake Como, Chanel has also brought its sartorial universe to Dubai, Marseille, Monaco and Hong Kong. Oscar-winning filmmaker Sofia Coppola turns photographer for Ananya Panday as she enjoys ‘sweet Italian life'
Ananya Panday is all set to represent the French luxury brand, Chanel as its first-ever ambassador from India. The actor will be a part of the Chanel Cruise 2025/2026 show which will be hosted at the the iconic luxury hotel Villa d'Este on Lake Como. The star announced her entry to the country on her Instagram stories and got clicked by none-other-than filmmaker Sofia Coppola. (Also read: Ananya Panday is Chanel's 1st Indian ambassador; Sonam, Alia, Deepika, other Indian celebs linked to top global labels) Ananya, who is enjoying sweet Italian life, took to Instagram to post several stories on her social media. One of her stories shows Lake Como in all its serenity and natural beauty. She also shared a welcome note on Instagram from her friends at Chanel, along with a bunch of refreshing flowers that her friends at Chanel sent her. The note read: 'Dear Ananya. Welcome to Lake Como! We are delighted to welcome you to the Cruise show in Italy's most magical city, famous for its cinematic landscapes and romantic villas. We look forward to sharing this solar dolce vita experience and creating unforgettable memories with you. See you very soon. Your Chanel friends." But what caught everyone's attention was the picture where she posed with her sister Rysa, looking as fresh as a daisy in a yellow dress. She gave photo credit to Oscar-winning filmmaker Sofia Coppola. Sofia is set to direct Chanel's Lago Di Como cruise show, which will also have Ananya as India's ambassador. Ananya also posted pictures with a caption, 'Living the sweet Italian life with @chanelofficial'. The photo dump has snaps of her enjoying sumptuous Italian food from spaghetti to croissant. In one picture she can be seen enjoying a boat ride on a bright sunny day in Lake Como looking lovely in her yellow dress. In another one, she takes a stroll in the picturesque alley surrounding the lake. She also took time for some self care and posted fun picture of her wearing a face mask with her sister. A post shared by Ananya 🌙 (@ananyapanday) On the work front, Ananya is enjoying praise for her role in Kesari Chapter 2. The courtroom drama which also stars Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan opened to positive reviews, which is translating into good business at the box office. The film has raked in over ₹65 crore till now, surpassing the underwhelming numbers of some of Akshay's previous films, including Khel Khel Mein, in just 10 days.
