Terrified woman slams disgusting act on the 'worst street in Melbourne'
A young woman has recalled the terrifying moment an elderly man exposed himself to her on Chapel Street as she shopped for a wedding dress. The bride-to-be was on the busy street - regarded as the city's most upmarket destinations for fashion - when the 'worst thing ever' happened last month. She was heading back to her car when a man approached her, undid his pants and exposed himself while she was waiting to cross the road. 'Today, I went to Chapel Street for the first time in a really long time and it has become so scary down there,' she said in a TikTok following the incident. 'I had to cross the road and I pressed on the traffic lights. It felt really eerie so I took a step back and put my back towards a shop front and I made a conscious effort to not be on my phone so I could like look at the surroundings. 'I am so glad I did because as I was waiting, about maybe two or three metres from me, a man stopped. He started playing with his fly... He then proceeded to undo his belt, his pants and I'm sure you can imagine what happened next.' The woman said she 'freaked out' and ran into a nearby shop for safety, with two workers quickly locking the door behind her. She waited for the man to leave before going straight to her car and driving home. The woman called police once she got home and provided them with specific details of what the man looked like and when and where the incident took place. She said the officer she spoke to asked her to come to the station to write a statement, which she was happy to do. But, the woman said she became uneasy when she learned her full name would have to be included in the official report. 'I asked if this man was going to know my details because I have to put all of that in the statement, they said 'yes, he will be provided with your name and everything',' she continued in the TikTok. The woman told police she did not want to provide her name but still wanted to report the incident to ensure it didn't happen to anyone else. She asked if officers could look up the CCTV in the area as she had provided specific details of the location but claims police simply said 'no'. 'They can't go looking into things unless I put my name to it, which will then go to this freak. They won't do anything,' the woman said. Daily Mail Australia has contacted Victoria Police about the incident. Social media users praised the woman for sharing her experience. One woman, who worked near Chapel Street claimed to know the man and said he had behaved in the same way to 'a lot of young women'. 'Same thing happened when my coworker was attacked at work, they wouldn't do anything because they wouldn't give their personal details even with CCTV footage from the street and our workplace,' she wrote. 'Why are they giving out private information to the offender? Sounds like the cop didn't want to assist & knew you would back down,' another wrote. A third chimed: 'And this, this is how women are not protected in the slightest. This is how women get hurt. I had a similar situation'. Others encouraged the woman to report the incident anonymously via Crime Stoppers. 'Your name goes into the report but it doesn't go to the man! Call the cop shop and speak to someone different,' one person wrote.

Nathan Buckley's ex Brodie Ryan looks downcast as she is seen for the first time since her split from AFL legend
Brodie Ryan has been spotted for the first time since confirming her split from AFL great Nathan Buckley. The former WAG looked visibly downcast during a solo outing in Melbourne. The 35-year-old was seen walking down trendy Chapel Street on Thursday dressed in black activewear. She cut a very casual figure in a Country Road jumper teamed with leggings, white socks and worn-in sneakers. Carrying a black designer handbag on her arm, Brodie appeared deep in thought as she strolled past boutiques and cafes in the fashionable area. The outing marked a stark contrast to her previous public appearances with Nathan, where the pair always seemed smitten and inseparable. It is the first public sighting of Brodie since she and Nathan, 52, announced their separation last week in a shock joint statement. The brunette bombshell made the shock announcement in an Instagram post. 'To the followers of the "Brodes and Bucks" journey' she began. 'After much reflection and consideration, Nath and I have decided to part ways,' she continued. 'Thank you for your kind messages and support over the past couple of months of heartache. I am grateful for your kindness and consideration. 'This decision was not made lightly. We are grateful for the time we shared, the memories created, and the support we received from each other. 'While we will no longer be a couple, I will always respect Nathan and the friendship that developed between us 3-4 years ago and have a lot of love for him and his boys.' Brodie concluded: 'We appreciate your understanding and kindness over the past couple of months and continuing through this transition period. Brodie appeared makeup free during the outing and tied her brunette locks in a ponytail 'We kindly ask for privacy as we navigate this new chapter in our lives. Thank you for your continued support and for being a part of our journey.' The sad ending comes just months after the pair took their relationship to the next level by jetting off to the island paradise of Fiji for a very special family occasion. 'It's a big family holiday with all of Nath's family,' Brodie told the Herald Sun. Brodie previously revealed she and Nathan connected over their similar upbringings, after they began dating in 2022.

'Extensive excavations' They said the council sought to balance the needs of local residents and businesses while maintaining the operation of public transport and general traffic asked by the Local Democracy Reporting Service why the works were set to take a year, lead member for planning, transport and sustainable development Mike McCusker said "extensive excavations" were needed to accommodate the work required."The contractor has to carry these works out safely for the workforce and the public whilst maintaining access for buses, residents, businesses and general traffic in the city centre where there is very limited space and high congestion," he work also includes the installation of more pedestrian areas and extra room for buses. Commuter Helen Marsh said on social media that it took her "one-and-a-half hours to do a 13-mile journey from Leigh into Manchester [on] Thursday morning" using the A6."It was gridlocked, cars blocking junctions because the lights turn before you can move, horns beeping everywhere," she added. She said it was putting people off travelling into the city the first week of the closure Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) said it had spoken to Salford Council to see if any tweaks could be made."We met with Salford Council and other key partners... to investigate the causes of the disruption in more detail and are exploring options to ease the build-up of traffic along Chapel Street going forward, including potential changes to traffic light sequencing at the junction of Blackfriars Street," a TfGM spokesperson said.
