Sweet Baby's Farm hosts first-ever Spring Fling event
YOUNGSTOWN, Fla. (WMBB) – A Bay County farm is starting the spring season off in style by hosting their first ever 'Spring Fling' this weekend. Sweet Baby's Farm in Youngstown is inviting the public to join them for this free event which will include a variety of food trucks, vendors selling locally grown products, and more. Representatives from the Bay County Master Gardeners will also be in attendance this weekend. Kiwanis Club hosts 5th annual Charity Bass Tournament in Freeport They will be ready to provide important information on tending to gardens and plant care to anyone interested in creating their own this spring. 'Their Master Gardener booth will be an ask-a-gardener booth is what they call it,' Rena Webb of Sweet Baby's Farm said. 'They'll have multiple different pamphlets on different plant diseases, different kinds of plants, and how to grow plants. They'll be there to answer any questions that you might have.' Kiwanis Club hosts 5th annual Charity Bass Tournament in Freeport
FREEPORT, Fla. (WMBB) – A Walton County non-profit is giving residents the chance to reel in some fun while supporting some local organizations is coming to Freeport on Saturday, March 22nd. The Kiwanis Club of DeFuniak Springs is bringing back its Charity Bass Tournament for its 5th year to Black Creek Lodge. This year the club will be raising money for the Florida Sheriff's Youth Ranches, the Matrix C.O.C, and Cancer Freeze. So far this year the organization has raised over $11,000 for the charities. Some of the money raised will also go towards some of the Kiwanis Club's student initiatives. Bay County leaders to discuss local needs with State Legislators 'This is one of our biggest fundraisers that we have every year,' said tournament director Rob Neale. 'We also use this money for some of our student initiatives, Student of the Month, Kiwanis sponsors the Builders Club, the Key Club, K-Kids and Elementary. Anyone interested in taking part in the tournament can register at the event beginning at 4:30 a.m. It costs $100 per boat to compete in the competition and boats will begin to head out into Black Creek around 6:30 a.m. The weigh-in is free to see at 3 p.m. and the boat with the largest bass will take home $2000.
