2025 NFL Scouting Combine: Kansas City Chiefs held 'formal meeting' with Iowa State CB

2025 NFL Scouting Combine: Kansas City Chiefs held 'formal meeting' with Iowa State CB According to Charles Goldman of AtoZ Sports, the Kansas City Chiefs had a "formal meeting" with Iowa State CB Darien Porter this week at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana. Kansas City has a deep roster of quality defensive backs who are often utilized in Steve Spagnuolo's schemes. Injuries to key players led to shuffling in the secondary, with Jaylen Watson, Joshua Williams, and Nazeeh Johnson alternating as the second starting cornerback alongside All-Pro Trent McDuffie. During his session at the combine, Porter was listed at 36.5" in the vertical jump and 10' 11" in the broad jump. He ran an impressive 4.30 in the 40-yard dash. He finished his final season with the Cyclones with 12 tackles, three interceptions, and two passes deflected. He already has experience playing at Arrowhead Stadium, where he had a matchup against the Kansas Jayhawks last November. At 6 feet 4 inches and 200 pounds, Porter has track speed and won a state title in the 200-meter dash in high school. In 2024, he allowed a passer rating of just 4.7 in his coverage, breaking into the starting lineup for the first time in his career.

2025 NFL Scouting Combine: Kansas City Chiefs held 'formal meeting' with Oregon Ducks star

2025 NFL Scouting Combine: Kansas City Chiefs held 'formal meeting' with Oregon Ducks star According to Charles Goldman of AtoZ Sports, the Kansas City Chiefs had a "formal meeting" with Oregon Ducks star Derrick Harmon at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana this week. While the Chiefs aren't necessarily expected to take a defensive lineman with the No. 31 pick in the 2025 NFL draft, Kansas City's front office is always on the lookout for elite talent, and Harmon is an exciting prospect. Chiefs Wire's resident draktnik Sam Teets profiled Harmon in a scouting report that was written during the 2024 college football season and pointed out that the Ducks defender could be a natural fit to play with Chris Jones in the middle of Kansas City's front four. After their loss in Super Bowl LIX, the Chiefs will look to do anything they can in the draft to aid Kansas City's championship bid next season. Fans should keep an eye on Harmon during combined workouts to see if his performance will make him a bigger target on the Chiefs' radar.
