Samsung's new smart TVs offer a Vision AI of the future
The new Neo QLED 8K QN90F smart TV is one of the highlights of Samsung's 2025 lineup. (Terence Toh @ FMT Lifestyle) PETALING JAYA : In today's fast-paced world, the television isn't just a device; it has evolved into the central hub for entertainment, information, and smart connectivity within a household. With this in mind, Samsung Malaysia Electronics has unveiled its new range of next-generation AI screens and intelligent soundbars, which allows users to enjoy hyper-personalised, intuitive experiences. Its 2025 TV range is powered by Vision AI, touted as the brand's most intelligent platform thus far. Thanks to deep-learning capabilities, Vision AI allows the screen to perceive its surroundings, analyse content and user behaviour, and react in real time. Imagine a television that adjusts its brightness in response to ambient lighting, or reads your face to determine emotional nuances when offering viewing options! 'Samsung has always innovated with purpose. With Vision AI, we're introducing a new era of intelligent screens that learn, adapt, and seamlessly fit into your daily life,' Samsung Malaysia Electronics president Charles Kim said a recent launch event. Expect nothing less than sharp visuals, smooth motion, and three-dimensional realism, as well as enhanced curation of audio-visual and content preferences. One of Vision AI's most talked-about features is Universal Gesture. While wearing the Galaxy Watch 7, actions such as shaking your wrist or making a fist allow you to control your television without a remote. Integration with Samsung's SmartThings app also allows Vision AI-enabled TVs to act as smart hubs capable of connecting to compatible devices. Meanwhile, the new 3D Map View function instantly offers a visual layout of your connected home, complete with real-time alerts. Smart features deliver household updates and safety notifications, while customisable settings allow for added comfort, like dimming the lights when your child falls asleep. The Frame transforms your TV into a personalised gallery. (Terence Toh @ FMT Lifestyle) Another of Samsung's most-discussed new offerings is The Frame Pro, which uses your smart TV to showcase the timeless elegance of classic art. Pairing it with the expanded Samsung Art Store offers access to over 3,000 curated masterpieces by artists the likes of Magritte and Basquiat, and creators from New York's Museum of Modern Art. Of course, great visuals are nothing without crisp, quality sound, which is why Samsung's new televisions are perfectly complemented by its 2025 Q-Series soundbars. This year's lineup is equipped with Wireless Dolby Atmos and Q-Symphony, offering rich, multidimensional surround sound – rounding up an irresistible package that sets a new standard for immersive entertainment and modern living.
