Event highlights opportunities for girls in engineering & manufacturing
An event in Bradford has highlighted the educational and career opportunities available to local girls in engineering and manufacturing.
The Trailblazers event was organised in celebration of International Women's Day - which officially takes place on Saturday, March 8.
Female role models from various industries shared their personal journeys, professional accomplishments, and insights into how to overcome challenges in their fields.
The students engaged with these figures during a careers session, exploring career paths in manufacturing, engineering, chemicals, accountancy, and project management.
They also toured the University of Bradford to see the opportunities available there within engineering and manufacturing.
CTE project lead Charlie Jerram, from SkillsHouse, said: "This event was truly inspirational!
"It was an honour to bring together such a talented panel of women as they shared their unique strengths and stories.
"The learners' brilliant questions and the subsequent careers fair offered vital guidance to help young women make confident, informed choices about their futures."
The initiative was made possible by a partnership between Solenis, the University of Bradford, and SkillsHouse Careers & Technical Education.
The event also received support from companies and organisations including Carnaud Metalbox, Yorkshire Water, Azets, Christeyns, Byworth Boilers, Teconnex, and Appris.
