Sankuanz Delves Deeper Into Himalayan Culture for Fall 2025
For fall 2025, Sankuanz creative director Shangguan Zhe continued to focus on Himalayan culture.
'This season, we chose a traditional meditation as a way to give inspiration to this collection,' he said. That is 'chöd,' an ancient practice carried out at night in a remote location to seek selflessness.

As always, the Chinese designer melded what are generally considered opposites — high fashion and streetwear — in this finely wrought line. Garments — crafted in silk, cashmere, yak wool, denim and velvet — had silhouettes that nodded to traditional Himalayan dress, but with a modern twist.
Sartorial jackets were morphed with an asymmetric wrap structure, which appeared in other garments, such as shirts and coats, too. A black silk shirt with a Mao collar and oriental motifs was worn with a flowing denim skirt.
The color palette was generally somber, with a prevalence of black, navy and olive, but also with pops of color like pumpkin and crimson.
Winking to ceremonial attire of Himalayan practitioners were tasseled baseball caps and a clutch shaped like Tibetan scriptures. Jewelry was shaped like humans and body organs.
Zhe presented the line alongside models and members of the experimental Young Boy Dancing Group. Two were painted red. Four of them performed around a shallow body of water in which one woman enigmatically crouched down with four candles burning on her back.
