2 Savannah voting precincts combining ahead of state primary
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The Chatham County Board of Elections (BOE) have voted to combine two Savannah precincts.
Precincts 3-03 and 3-04 will be combined and designated as 3-04. The change will be in effect for the June 17 state primary for the Public Service Commission seats.
Voters assigned to assigned to precinct 3-03 will receive new voter cards regarding the change and will vote at First African Baptist Church on 402 Treat Avenue in East Savannah.
'As the county population shifts, Elections staff look for ways to conduct elections more efficiently, keeping in mind both the voters and the taxpayers of Chatham County,' Elections Board chairman Thomas Mahoney said. 'This change will not adversely affect the voters and will be a cost savings for the county. '
The board also said there will be signs posted to notify voters of the change at polling locations before and on Election Day, June 17.
