Three suspects arrested in Chatham theft
Three suspects have been arrested following a theft in Chatham over the weekend.
On Saturday just after 8 a.m., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of theft at a retail store.
The complainant told police two people left the building with a large quantity of items but were still in the parking lot.
When officers arrived, they found a 56-year-old Windsor man in the parking lot. He was arrested on scene as a woman, 44 years old also from Windsor, ran. She was found nearby and was arrested.
As a further investigation was conducted, a third suspect, a 31-year-old woman from Chatham-Kent, was found with stolen items.
As a result, all three suspects are facing charges.
The Windsor man has been charged with theft under $5,000, obstructing public or peace officer, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The Chatham-Kent woman is facing charges for obstructing a public or peace officer and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
The CKPS said video surveillance confirmed the suspects' involvement, including the vehicle used.
