‘Soar-y for ruffling some feathers:' Delivery person discovers hawk trapped inside Lakeview restaurant
CHICAGO — A delivery person bringing supplies to a Lakeview restaurant on Thursday spotted an unusual sight when they noticed a hawk was trapped inside the restaurant.
The incident unfolded at Cheesie's Pub & Grub in Lakeview and, according to Chicago Bird Collision Monitors, a delivery person noticed the hawk and contacted the monitors.

Monitors said the bird appeared to be a Cooper's Hawk, which is known for chasing things on foot. They said the bird likely wound up in the restaurant after following a delivery person inside while chasing something.

'While it may have been hawkward for some… that's just Gary, our friendly neighborhood Hawk. He's a vegetarian so The Mac is his sandwich of choice! He says Soar-y for ruffling some feathers!' Cheesie's owner Chris Johnston said.
The monitors said they responded to the restaurant to help the bird, but when they got there, an employee informed them that they were able to guide the bird out the door safely.
