The Cher Show coming to the Forum
(WIVT/WBGH) – The Broome County Forum Theatre is turning back time to honor a performer known for her bold personality, bedazzled costumes, and beloved hit music.
The Cher Show is coming to Binghamton on Monday and Tuesday.
The jukebox musical tells the rags to riches story of the legendary superstar Cher. From her humble beginnings as a little girl, to meeting Sonny and falling in love, to her iconic appearances on screen, audience members will get to take a look at Cher behind the sequins and long black hair.
Cher is portrayed by three women who represent the different eras of her life.
SUNY Cortland graduate Ella Perez plays Babe, the 1960s Cher.
Perez says whether you're a Cher fan or not, the musical is very inspiring. She says it gives you a whole new perspective on Cher, especially in her early life.
'When you think of Cher you think of the bad ass, foul mouthed, diva icon Cher and not really necessarily a really shy, introverted version of Cher who couldn't even go on stage without Sonny right next to her. So, I think it's really cool and fun to bring that Cher to light because not many people know about her but she's really crucial and she's always in there,' said Perez.
Perez says audience members will be up dancing in the aisles because the show features 35 of Cher's top hits.
Show times for The Cher Show are at 7:30 both nights.
Tickets start at $55.
