Two men fatally shot in front of mall in Cheras

KUALA LUMPUR - In a shocking act of violence, two men were gunned down by a group of armed suspects in front of a shopping mall in Jalan Loke Yew, Cheras, early Tuesday morning.
The shooting occurred around 12.15am as the victims were reportedly walking towards their car parked in the mall's compound.
Eyewitnesses described a group of men with helmets rushing towards the victims before opening fire.
"The suspects then fired several shots at the victims until both of them collapsed in a pool of blood," a witness said at the scene. Scene at the location where two men were shot dead in front of the shopping mall in Cheras, here, on Tuesday.
After the attack, the assailants fled in a Perodua Alza, leaving the victims lifeless at the scene.
Authorities from the Kuala Lumpur Contingent Criminal Investigation Department and the Cheras District Police Headquarters, along with forensic units, launched a thorough investigation at the scene.
The bodies were found lying in front of the victims' vehicle. Initial reports indicate that the deceased were in their 40s and from Sibu, Sarawak.
Police are currently gathering eyewitness statements and reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the suspects.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code, with an official statement expected from police soon.
