A house has been shot up and a getaway car set on fire, in a suspected underworld linked attack in Sydney's west this morning.
Gunmen opened fire on the home on Earl St in Merrylands about 9.15am on Thursday morning, fire several shots into the home before fleeing the scene in a Porsche.
That car was found alight in nearby Beverley Crescent in Chester Hills a short time later.
Three men are in custody, after being arrested at Yagoona, about 10am.
It is unclear if the arrest is related to the shooting.
The Daily Telegraph understands police are investigating if the home targetted is linked to the Alameddine organised crime network.
NSW Police have cordoned off a crime scene at the Merrylands address and fire crews are on scene at the car blaze.
