The Regina Pat Canadians suffered their first loss in the 2025 Telus Cup on Friday. In their final round robin game of the national male under-18 AAA hockey championship in Chilliwack, B.C against Quebec's Chevaliers de Levis, the Pat Canadians fell 6-2 in a battle that featured two teams who entered action with 4-0 round robin records. With the win, the Chevaliers clinched the top seed heading into Saturday's semifinals while the Pat Canadians will be the second seed. Their opponents are to be confirmed after the round robin wraps up on Friday night. The semifinals will get underway on Saturday (1 p.m. and 5 p.m.) with the winners advancing to Sunday's gold medal final, which is set for 4 p.m. The semifinal losers will play for bronze at 12 p.m. on Sunday. As for the round robin, following wins over the host Fraser Valley Thunderbirds, Atlantic champion Moncton Flyers, Central champion Elgin Middlesex Canucks, Pacific champion Okanagan Rockets, the West regional champion Pat Canadians and Levis met in a highly anticipated matchup featuring the top two ranked U18 AAA teams in the country. The Pat Canadians got on the board in the second period as Logan Mehl scored on the powerplay drawing assists from Maddox Schultz and Jonah Sivertson, as Regina trailed 4-1 through 40 minutes. In the third, Levis made it 5-1 with a goal from Brandon Delarosbil before Regina added a second goal from Ryan Ulmer, with Schultz drawing another assist. Charles-Antoine Dubé then scored an empty net goal to seal the victory for the Chevaliers, who finish the round robin at 5-0 while the Pat C's finished at 4-1.
