One flown to UNC Burn Unit after single-vehicle crash in Beaufort County
BEAUFORT COUNTY, N.C. (WNCT) — North Carolina State Highway Patrol Troopers responded to a single-vehicle collision on N.C. Highway 92 East of U.S. Highway 264 Tuesday, Mar. 18, 2025 at around 12:45 p.m.
Troopers said a driver in a 2011 Chevrolet Van was traveling West on N.C. Highway 92, crossed the centerline and collided with a small bridge.
After colliding into the bridge, the van overturned and caught on fire. The driver was trapped in the vehicle and was pulled out by an unknown witness.
The driver was flown to the UNC Burn Unit in Chapel Hill. The passenger was able to exit the van and escaped with no injuries.
