Chicago Med Is Plotting the Return of Original Cast Member(s) Next Season, EP Reveals — Who Should Come Back?

Chicago Med brought back two familiar faces this past season, and that could be just the beginning of the show's returnees. 'I intend to bring back another original cast member or two, like I did Sarah Reese, and that is in the works,' showrunner Allen MacDonald tells TVLine. Plus, More Finale Revelations So which long-gone doc or nurse could be coming home to Med? There are certainly many possibilities to pick from: Among the Season 1 stars who have departed the NBC drama over the years are Colin Donnell (Dr. Connor Rhodes), Nick Gehlfuss (Dr. Will Halstead), Torrey DeVitto (Dr. Natalie Manning), Brian Tee (Dr. Ethan Choi) and Yaya DaCosta (nurse April Sexton). As MacDonald mentioned, original cast member Rachel DiPillo already reprised her role as psychiatrist Sarah Reese during the middle of Season 10, making a surprise appearance in two episodes and then popping back up again in the finale. The multi-episode arc resurfaced old issues and accusations between Sarah and Dr. Charles, before allowing the protégé and mentor to finally get some closure on their troubled relationship. Dr. Charles got another blast from the past when Mekia Cox returned as his daughter Robin in the season's final two episodes after a long absence. Cox's character hadn't been seen in the Windy City in five seasons, after she appeared throughout Seasons 2-3, dating Dr. Rhodes until she left Chicago to focus on her health. Robin returned in Season 4 as her mother battled cancer, then appeared in a Season 5 episode for her mom's funeral. fans, which former cast member would you like to see return? 'Chicago Med's Bombshell Update on Hannah's Pregnancy Is Turning Heads

The penultimate episode of Chicago Med left fans quite shocked when it was revealed that Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram) was pregnant. Ahead of the season 10 finale, it was revealed that the OB-GYN couldn't become a surrogate for her sister because she was already pregnant. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 Of course, most fans assumed the father was fellow doctor and former love interest, Mitch Ripley (Luke Mitchell), but that may not be the case, if we're to believe what showrunner Allen MacDonald teased to TV Line. While addressing the pregnancy storyline, she noted that the "audience should definitely be questioning' who the father is, leading many to point out that Dean Archer (Steven Weber) was another potential baby daddy, especially after Hannah showed up at his house to console him following his ex-wife's death. Though nothing was ever confirmed on screen, it seems that something potentially transpired between the two colleagues whose "chemistry" has always been palpable, according to fans. Others were shocked by the teaser, with one writing, "okay maybe i'm not caught up with med enough for this but archer and hannah?????????????? what on earth is going on in recent chicago med?" "I mean the Chicago Med wiki page for Hannah says it's Ripley's so I'm gonna continue believing that. lol," another reasoned, as someone else responded, "why and how that's what i wanna know." The responses seemed firmly divided, with one stating, "FREE HANNAH ASHER FROM DEAN ARCHER," as another chimed in, "I don't want Hannah to be pregnant with anyone's baby right now tbh but I'd much prefer Dean to be the father." Another said, "It won't be Dean's baby because we're not that lucky. We're in Ripley and Hannah boring purgatory for life," with many suggesting that the series is "going to go for the boring ship with no chemistry or foundation of anything whatsoever." However, it seems like Hannah is aware of who the father is, as MacDonald teased of the upcoming season finale that "she's going to have to tell a few people. She's going to have to tell her sister, and she's going to have to tell the baby's father." Hopefully, we'll all get the confirmation when Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 22 airs on Wednesday, May 21.

Chicago Med Very Nonchalantly Brings Back [Spoiler] After 5 Seasons — Plus, Hannah Gets Shocking News!

The funeral of Dr. Charles' mother on Chicago Med brought about the unexpected return of a character that viewers haven't seen in five seasons. Renewed at NBC The Voice Results-Show Recap: Did Viewers Send the Right Top 5 to Season 27's Finale? It's been a long time since Cox's character was last seen in the Windy City, where she was an epidemiologist at the hospital. She appeared throughout Seasons 2-3, dating Colin Donnell's Dr. Connor Rhodes until she left Chicago to focus on her health. Robin returned in Season 5 as her mother battled cancer, then appeared in a Season 5 episode for her mom's funeral. As a family death once again brought Robin back to Chicago after several years away, her father acknowledged how hard it must be for her to attend her grandmother's funeral, given how she treated her granddaughter. But Robin surprised Charles, revealing that her grandmother apologized for being racist every time she called her. During his eulogy, Charles acknowledged what a difficult relationship he had with his mother, but he loved her because the 'love between a parent and child goes beyond any one moment,' he concluded as Robin and Anna watched in tears. In other surprising developments during the hour, Hannah was waiting on the results of her physical exam and psych evaluation to find out if she could be a surrogate for her sister. She worried that her drug addiction and unstable romantic life were going to be an issue, but when she got the call informing her that it was no-go, it was her physical that turned out to be the problem. Turns out the doc is already pregnant! Congrats, Papa Ripley?! Elsewhere, another doctor made their exit from the hospital: Naomi was not happy that Dr. Lenox went to Mrs. Goodwin with the accusations against Dr. Hayes. But she, eventually, found another way to fight by convincing his other victims to speak to the Tribune paper. Still, Naomi told Caitlin that she needs a fresh start at a new hospital. fans, what did you think of the season's penultimate episode? Hit the comments! Chicago P.D.
