Webb City police offer free child I.D. kits at farmers market
WEBB CITY, Mo. — Fresh produce wasn't the only thing parents could get at the Webb City Farmers Market today.
The Webb City Police Department made an appearance, handing out free Child I.D. kits at the market's free kids meal.
Patrol Lieutenant Travis Osterman tells us for around eight years now, the department has worked to pass out kits several times a month during the summer.
Each kit helps parents collect information that police might need to know in an emergency.
'It's just a way that parents can gather and maintain a current photograph, fingerprints, and uh, dental documentation for their kiddos in case they were to become missing,' said Travis Osterman, Webb City Patrol Lieutenant.
Parents can pick up ID kits for their children at the Webb City Police Department at 211 West Broadway Street.
