Chippa United announce new coach!
Chippa United have officially announced Sinethemba Badela as their new head coach ahead of next season. Badela joins the Chilli Boys following a season-long stint with Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club. He worked as one of Rulani Mokwena's assistants at Wydad but their stint was cut short towards the end of last season. As reported on The South African, Chippa United showed huge interest in the Sterkspruit-born mentor. This was on the back of Thabo September's departure from the club following the conclusion of the season. Now, Badela comes in to try and build on the foundation laid by September and his team but also bring in his philosophy. Badela rose to prominence whilst at All Stars in the Motsepe Foundation Championship a few years ago. He was later snapped up by Mamelodi Sundowns to coah their DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) team, thanks to Mokwena's huge influence. Orlando Pirates to land blockbuster move amid North Africa interest
Orlando Pirates are set to land a blockbuster move as interest from North Africa looms. Chippa United star Sinoxolo Kwayiba plans to join the Soweto giants at the end of the season. With his soaring form now attracting international attention. Interest in the 25-year-old midfielder continues to grow. Also a source has revealed that a top flight Algerian club has started monitoring Kwayiba closely. However, a move to North Africa might be too soon. 'There is interest in (Sinoxolo) Kwayiba from Algeria,' a source confirmed. 'One of the clubs has made initial contact and has been monitoring him. But the reality is that the player is expected to join Orlando Pirates.' Kwayiba has delivered an outstanding campaign with the Chilli Boys, showcasing composure and versatility in central midfield. His breakout season has not only helped Chippa United remain competitive but has also propelled him into the national spotlight. The midfielder's impressive form earned him a well-deserved call-up to the Bafana Bafana squad. So far this season, Kwayiba has netted seven goals and supplied one assist across 28 appearances in all competitions. This marks a remarkable contribution from midfield. Chippa United head coach Thabo September has publicly supported Kwayiba's move. Acknowledging that the player's future lies beyond the Eastern Cape. 'If I want Sinoxolo to stay in the Eastern Cape, I would be selfish. I wouldn't want the best for the player,' said September, as per Kick Off . 'The best for him is to play for the big teams. The best for him is to play in CAF, the best for him and the national team is to be in those games. So, yes, I do want the best for him.' According to media reports from April, a club-to-club agreement has also already been reached. Paving the way for Kwayiba to don Orlando Pirates colours next season. Is Kwayiba the kind of signing that the Bucs need for next season? Let us know by leaving a comment below or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1. Kaizer Chiefs make move for 'foreign' defender
Kaizer Chiefs might need to free up some foreign spots if they want to land their latest rumoured transfer target. According to Soccer Laduma, Kaizer Chiefs are interested in signing Chilli Boys defender Thabo Makhele. The 30-year-old, who stands at 1.88m tall, was born in South Africa but chose to represent the Lesotho National Team. 'As much as they are looking at the attacking department, they also want to strengthen the defence as they haven't yet replaced TT (Ditlhokwe), and they are also looking at releasing other defenders as well,' a source told the outlet. 'So they have been monitoring Thabo Makhele from Chippa United. He is experienced and very solid. He would help the team if they want to fight for trophies next season. They'll be playing in Africa. So that's one of the reasons they have been monitoring and have enquired about him,' the source added on Soccer Laduma. 'They are looking at revamping and overhauling the squad next season. It's believed that the coach wants to build a squad which will be like his own with the players he is recommending. So with them targeting Thabo Makhele, they are also looking at releasing some as well,' he concluded. Is Makhele a solid option for Kaizer Chiefs?
