3 men jailed a year each for splashing paint on house, car
Magistrate S Mageswary ordered the three accused to serve their jail sentences from the date of their arrest on April 16. PETALING JAYA : Three men were sentenced to a year's imprisonment each by the Kuala Lumpur magistrates' court today after pleading guilty to causing mischief by splashing paint on the exterior of a house two months ago. Magistrate S Mageswary pronounced the sentence on technician Chin Zi Ping, company manager Tieu Boon Chow, and air conditioning technician Ooi Hong Leong, Bernama reported. She ordered their sentences to begin from the date of their arrest on April 16. The trio were charged with splashing paint on the exterior of a man's house, his car and motorcycle, causing RM10,000 in damage to the house at Taman Angkasa Batu 6, Brickfields, at 4.50am on March 29. The charge was under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief, which provides for one to five years' imprisonment, a fine, or both, on conviction. Deputy public prosecutor Nur Farhana Poad asked that all three accused receive punishment commensurate with their crime, taking into consideration the cost of losses suffered by the victim. Lawyer Nurul Diyana Basher from the National Legal Aid Foundation asked for a shorter jail sentence, as her clients had families and had apologised for their action.

KUALA LUMPUR, May 28 (Bernama) -- Three men were sentenced to twelve months' jail by the Magistrate's Court here today after pleading guilty to causing mischief by splashing paint on the exterior of a house two months ago. Magistrate S Mageswary pronounced sentence on technician Chin Zi Ping, company manager Tieu Boon Chow, 34, and air conditioning technician, Ooi Hong Leong, 38, and ordered their sentence to begin from the date of their arrest on April 16. The three were charged with committing the offence of splashing paint on the exterior of a man's house, his car and motorcycle that caused RM10,000 in damages at a house in Taman Angkasa Batu 6, Brickfields here at 4.50 am, March 29 under Section 427 of the Penal Code.

Trio gets one-year jail for splashing paint at Brickfields house
KUALA LUMPUR: Three men have been each sentenced to 12 months in jail by the Sessions Court here after pleading guilty to mischief by throwing paint at a house, two months ago. Magistrate S. Mageswary meted out the sentence against technician Chin Zi Ping, company manager Tiew Boon Chow, 34, and air-conditioner technician Ooi Hong Leong, 38, here on Wednesday. She ordered for all of them to begin serving the sentence from the date of arrest on April 16. The men were accused of committing mischief by throwing paint outside the home of a man, on a car and a motorcycle, resulting in damages of RM10,000 at Taman Angkasa Batu 6, Brickfields at 4.50am on March 29. The charge was framed under Section 427 of the Penal Code which carries up to five year imprisonment or fine or both, upon conviction. Earlier, Deputy Public Prosecutor Nur Farhana Mohamad Poad sought for the court to consider the damages in the case and impose a just sentence against the accused persons. Lawyer Nurul Diyana Basher from the National Legal Aid Foundation (YBGK) asked for a short jail time for the accused persons. "All three of them are supporting their families and wives and they are very sorry," she said.
