Wuxi to host 2025 World Robot Contest in April
Wuxi, China, March 27, 2025 -- Wuxi, Jiangsu province, will be the home of the 2025 World Robot Contest—Embodied Artificial Intelligence (AI) Robot Games from April 24 to 26 in its Huishan district, an event that promises unique experiences with embodied intelligence and humanoid robots. [Photo provided to During a news conference on Monday, Li Yang, secretary-general of the World Robot Contest Organizing Committee, highlighted the event's focus on embodied intelligence and humanoid robots, comprising competitive showcases, carnival activities and themed conferences. Li said that the competitive showcases will feature three parts: competitive demonstrations, application scenarios and human-machine interaction, demonstrating the achievements and comprehensive capabilities of embodied intelligence technology from multiple angles. In addition to the games, the event will feature a themed conference focusing on humanoid robots and AI. Several academicians, experts and industry leaders in embodied intelligence will gather to discuss the industry's technology and development. The games are organized by the Chinese Institute of Electronics and co-hosted by Wuxi Huishan State-owned Investment Holding Group and the Chinese Humanoid Robot Hundred-Person Forum. The World Robot Contest has held 10 editions, attracting over 500,000 participants from more than 20 countries and regions. The 2025 World Robot Contest plans to hold over 200 city qualifiers worldwide, nearly 100 provincial qualifiers, more than 30 international championships, multiple domestic championships, and a final tournament, totaling over 300 competitions at all levels. The number of participants is expected to exceed 250,000 throughout the year. Chairman Liu Feng of Wuxi Huishan State-owned Investment Holding Group explained on-site that Huishan district has a profound background in the upstream and downstream sectors of robotics, having incubated a batch of high-quality robotics enterprises and supporting companies for the robotics industry. For example, Huishan is home to numerous component manufacturers specializing in harmonic reducers, roller screws, machine vision systems, wiring harnesses, shell processing machine tools, and more. Additionally, the Wuxi (Huishan) Humanoid Robot Industrial Park is under construction and expected to be operational by the end of this year.
