Abu Dhabi: Grocery shut down for posing 'serious' risk to public health

Another food facility has been shut down in Abu Dhabi as the emirate's authority intensifies food safety inspections across the city. A grocery was shut down in the emirate due to food safety violations, the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) announced on Wednesday. Al Mustaqbil Jadeed Baqala LLC, located in Abu Dhabi Island, Hamdan Street, was shut down after it was found violating Law No. (2) of 2008 on food safety in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and its associated regulations. The authority added that the establishment's practices posed a serious risk to public health. Crackdown on businesses for violating food safety rules continues in Abu Dhabi as the food safety authority continues to shut down and give warnings to such eateries, while also informing the public about these strict measures. Earlier this month, authorities ordered the closure of Zaiqa Grill N Restaurant located in Al Dana for violations of food safety regulations. A Bengali restaurant, Chittagong Restaurant, was also shut down after it committed repeated violations. Prior to that, five restaurants and a supermarket were closed in the emirate for breaching food safety laws. The eateries included Pak Ravi Restaurant, Lahore Garden Grill Restaurant and Cafeteria, Karak Future Cafeteria, Rich and Fresh Supermarket, Salty Desi Darbar Restaurant and Al Maqam Corner Restaurant.

Food safety authorities in Abu Dhabi have shut down a Bengali restaurant in the Capital after it committed repeated violations. Chittagong Restaurant, located in Madinat Zayed Sanaiya, Al Dhafra region, has been administratively shut by the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority due to violations of Law No. (2) of 2008 on food safety in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and its associated regulations. ‏The establishment's practices posed a serious risk to public health, the authority added in its statement. Crackdown on businesses for violating food safety rules continues in Abu Dhabi as the food safety authority continues to shut down and give warnings to such eateries, while also informing the public about these strict measures. On May 12, another restaurant serving Bengali food was shut down by the Abu Dhabi authority for repeated high-risk food safety violations. The restaurant reportedly failed to address these issues despite previous warnings, endangering consumer health and breaching established food safety standards. Just four days prior to Chittagong's closure, Zaiqa Grill N Restaurant located in Al Dana was shut down for violations of food safety and its associated regulations. In other recent closures, five restaurants and a supermarket were closed on May 13 for breaching food safety laws. The eateries included Pak Ravi Restaurant, Lahore Garden Grill Restaurant and Cafeteria, Karak Future Cafeteria, Rich and Fresh Supermarket, Salty Desi Darbar Restaurant and Al Maqam Corner Restaurant.
