Hawaii scores 10 in Big West Tournament 1st round win
The Big West Conference got the softball conference tournament underway on Wednesday with (5) Hawaii facing off against (4) Long Beach State. Long Beach State took a 1-0 lead after the 1st, but Hawaii's bats came alive in the 3rd inning as the Rainbow Wahine scored 3 runs with help from a 2-run homer from Chloe Borges and a solo shot from Izabella Martinez. But the Beach retook the lead with 3 runs of their own in the bottom of the 3rd, but Hawaii's bats not slowing down as UH scored 4 runs in the 4th inning and another 3 in the 5th. Hawaii held off LBSU late push as UH wins 10-8 to advance to the 2nd round. The Rainbow Wahine finished with 11 hits on the day to LBSU 10 hits. Martinez led the way with 4-for-5, 4 RBIs, 1 2b and 1 HR. Carys Murakami and Chloe Borges also add 2 hits and 3 RBIs each in the Hawaii win. Hawaii Softball with 2 Homeruns in Big West Opener
The Hawaii Rainbow Wahine opened up Big West Conference play against Long Beach State on Friday. Hawaii got off to a quick start as they scored 2 runs in the first inning with help from a deep sacrifice fly and a walk with bases loaded. In the 4th inning, Hawaii led 2-1, but in the bottom of the inning Chloe Borges added one more to their total with a solo homerun to centerfield. In the 5th inning, Liliana Thomas hammered a 2-run homerun to centerfield to put UH 5-1. Hawaii would score 1 more run in the 5th inning and would go on to win 6-1. The Rainbow Wahine are now 1-0 in Conference Play and 15-9 overall. Next up is a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 2:00pm against Long Beach State. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. Hawaii Softball sweeps doubleheader, improves to 3-0
(HONOLULU, HI) The Hawaii Rainbow Wahine in the Bank of Hawaii Paradise Classic this weekend and on Friday, hitting the field for 2 games in a doubleheader. In the first game of the day against Saint Louis, Hawaii won 5-2. Chloe Borges leading the way with 2 RBI's on a Double to help give the Wahine a 4th inning lead. The Wahine would score 1 run in the 5th and 6th innings to put it away for the win. In the 2nd game of the doubleheader, Hawaii taking on Southern Indiana. The Rainbow Wahine once again took an early lead in the game after scoring 2 runs in the 3rd inning. Fast forward to the 6th inning, UH leading 3-2 added some insurance runs after Amelia 'Millie' Fidge connected on a 2-run homerun to left center field.
