Chokr allegedly yelled profanities and attacked parents' support for Israel before being asked to leave, the attorney's office said. Authorities said Chokr then attempted to buy three firearms at a nearby gun store, where he held a 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun, a rifle and a 9mm semi-automatic pistol while at times pointing them and pulling the trigger. But Chokr had been convicted in 2017 of felony theft and was facing a pending assault with a dangerous weapon charge, according to the New York Post . RECOMMENDED VIDEO While awaiting the results of a background check during the firearms purchase, Chokr allegedly said he was 'going to even the score' and use the weapons for 'God's wrath,' according to the attorney's office. Chokr was eventually denied the weapons after a background check uncovered his criminal history. 'The federal government must do everything in its power to stem the rising tide of antisemitism,' U.S. Attorney Jerome F. Gorgon Jr. said in a statement. 'Chokr's attempt to purchase several deadly firearms in an apparent (alleged) attempt to follow through on his menacing threats against parents and preschoolers as they walked into a place of worship represents every American's worst nightmare. And we will not allow anyone to terrorize our Jewish neighbours. 'We are committed to protecting every American and their right to live and worship free of fear.' Chokr pleaded guilty May 28 to being a felon in possession of a firearm. He is set to be sentenced on Sept. 24 and faces up to 15 years in prison. Federal gun case: Michigan man pleads guilty after anti-semitic threats against Jewish daycare
A Michigan man, Hassan Chokr, accused of planning an attack on a Jewish daycare and attempting to illegally purchase assault weapons after making threats, pleaded guilty to federal gun charges. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Chokr entered his plea on May 28 and now faces a sentence of up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. Hassan Chokr, 35, was out on bail when he drove through the parking lot of Temple Beth El in Bloomfield Hills, outside Detroit, and shouted antisemitic slurs and threats as parents dropped off their kids in December 2022, according to federal authorities. Chokr then drove to a gun store in his hometown of Dearborn and tried to purchase three semiautomatic weapons, a Del-Ton AR-15-style rifle, a Landor Arms automatic shotgun, and a Glock pistol. Chokr falsely said on the background check form that he had no prior felony convictions and no pending charges. However, he had a 2017 felony theft conviction and a pending charge for assault with a dangerous weapon. Because of this, the firearms transaction was blocked. While awaiting the background check, Chokr reportedly told store staff, 'It ain't a fair fight out here,' and said he was 'going to even the score' and 'even the playing field real soon brothers, real soon.' He also said he intended to use the weapons for 'God's wrath.' US attorney Jerome F Gorgon Jr said the attempted gun purchase appeared to be part of a broader plan to carry out threats against the Jewish community. 'We believe this was an effort to follow through on his menacing threats against parents and preschoolers as they walked into a place of worship,' he said. Prosecutors also pointed to disturbing online posts Chokr had made on Instagram. One message read: 'Your Jew tactics will only backfire on you, you have no place on this earth, Jew [expletive], Jew mother [expletives]. A storm is coming to wipe you all out of our lives.' After his arrest, Chokr made headlines again when he exposed himself in court by pulling down his pants in front of a judge.

Michigan antisemite was plotting to massacre kids at Jewish daycare, tried to buy assault weapons: feds
A Michigan antisemite was plotting to massacre kids at a Jewish daycare and tried to illegally buy assault weapons after hurling threats at the preschoolers, federal prosecutors have revealed. Hassan Chokr, 35, was out on bail when he drove through the parking lot of Temple Beth El in Bloomfield Hills, outside Detroit, and shouted antisemitic slurs and threats as parents dropped off their kids in December 2022, authorities said. He pleaded guilty to federal gun charged on May 28. US Attorney Jerome F. Gorgon Jr said Chokr's attempted gun purchase was part of what authorities believe was a larger plot 'to follow through on his menacing threats against parents and preschoolers as they walked into a place of worship.' Immediately after his antisemitic rant, he drove to a gun shop in his nearby hometown of Dearborn — which is home to the country's highest portion of Arab Americans — and tried to buy three semiautomatic weapons. 3 Hassan Chokr police mugshot Oakland County Jail The Michigan man lied on the gun application, stating that he wasn't convicted of a felony and didn't have any pending felony charges, according to the Department of Justice. While awaiting the results of a background check during the firearms purchase, Chokr stated 'It ain't a fair fight out here' and that he was 'going to even the score' and 'even the playing field real soon brothers, real soon,' according to court documents. The gun store owner also overheard Chokr say that he intended to use the weapons for 'God's wrath.' The federal background check detected the felonies, and he was denied the purchase. The feds showed surveillance images from inside the store where he tried out a Del-Ton AR-15-style assault rifle, a Landor Arms automatic shotgun and a Glock pistol. 3 Chokr was seen trying out guns in a firearms store in Michigan. A storm is coming to wipe you all out of our lives,'' according to prosecutors. At a court appearance after his arrest, Chokr pulled down his pants and exposed his rear-end to the judge to protest his arrest. He now faces up to ten years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

The Brief A man who allegedly threatened parents and children outside of a Bloomfield Township Jewish preschool pleaded guilty to a federal gun charge Tuesday. Authorities said that after the outburst, he went to a gun store and lied about having a felony conviction in an attempt to buy firearms. He allegedly made comments about how he would "even the score" and use the guns for "God's wrath." BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (FOX 2) - A man who federal authorities say went on an antisemitic rant that included threats against parents and children outside of a Bloomfield Hills preschool pleaded guilty to a gun charge Tuesday. Hassan Chokr, of Dearborn, entered a guilty plea to a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm for his actions after he left the preschool at a synagogue. The backstory Chokr is accused of making antisemitic and racist threats to parents, young children and security at Temple Beth El, a preschool and synagogue in Bloomfield Hills on Dec. 2, 2022. After being charged with ethnic intimidation in Oakland County, a federal gun charge was added because after the alleged verbal attack, he went to a Dearborn gun store, where he handled firearms and tried to buy numerous weapons. Authorities said he lied on a form about his eligibility to buy a gun. Chokr, who is a felon and cannot possess firearms, did not disclose that on the form. According to federal authorities, while Chokr was awaiting his background check at the gun store, he allegedly made comments about how he would "even the score" and use the guns for "God's wrath." After the background check, the store refused to sell Chokr the guns. "Chokr's attempt to purchase several deadly firearms in an apparent attempt to follow through on his menacing threats against parents and preschoolers as they walked into a place of worship represents every American's worst nightmare," said United States Attorney Jerome F. Gorgon Jr. "And we will not allow anyone to terrorize our Jewish neighbors. We are committed to protecting every American and their right to live and worship free of fear." What's next Chokr faces up to 15 years in prison when he is sentenced on Sept. 24. Additionally, his intimidation case is still moving through the Oakland County court system.
