Trump Taps Former Small Business Chief for Role Overseeing CFIUS
President Donald Trump has nominated Chris Pilkerton, the acting head of the Small Business Administration during his first term, to oversee a committee charged with screening foreign investments into the US as well as outbound investments in foreign countries, with a close eye on competition with China.
Pilkerton has been nominated to serve as the assistant secretary of the Treasury for Investment Security, according to the congressional record. In that role, he will oversee the Committee on Foreign Investment in the US, or CFIUS. The Treasury did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
