WATCH: Pair of dolphins spotted swimming in Manhattan's East River in rare sighting
MANHATTAN, N.Y. (WFLA) — This is dolphin-itely a rare sighting!
On Saturday, New Yorkers got a glimpse of what we Floridians see fairly often— dolphins enjoying a swim.

The pair of dolphins were spotted off 96th Street in Manhattan's East River, as captured by Gotham Whale's Chris St. Lawrence, a New York-based marine mammal research and education group.
According to the New York Post, common dolphins live in the area year-round but usually are off-shore. The New York Department of Environmental Conservation said dolphins can be seen off the south shore of Long Island, but usually are only spotted in the warm summer months.
Despite being in the dead of winter, New York City seemed to have clear, blue skies as the animals took their swim Saturday morning.
