There are many reasons why the Philadelphia Eagles continue to be tied to free-agent cornerback Jaire Alexander. After winning Super Bowl LIX, the organization parted ways with two key starters in the secondary, including cornerback Darius Slay and safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson.

With Alexander now a free agent after his release from the Green Bay Packers, the Pro Bowl cornerback is seen as a fit for the Eagles maybe in part if they don't believe in young Kelee Ringo.
There is an underrated reason why Alexander is a strong fit with Philly, though.
Eagles defensive backs coach Christian Parker was a quality control coach with the Packers during the 2019 and 2020 seasons. Alexander was an All-Pro during his second season with Parker.
Philadelphia doesn't have much money to give out for Alexander this offseason, but one analyst believes something could happen that would turn the tide on a potential deal.

ESPN's Adam Schefter joined 97.5 The Fanatic and addressed the possibility while saying Alexander could be a fit if the price is right.
"Now, Jaire Alexander, if the price were right and you're doing a one-year deal – whatever the number is, a low number – they can go make that work if that's what they wanted to do," Schefter said.
Things can absolutely change if Alexander - who was a $20 million plus guy under his previous deal. lowers his price. That said, Philadelphia has supported Ringo in earning the starting job this season.
With larger extensions due the following offseason, Philadelphia is trying to save as much cap space as possible for next year.

And we say - with all due respect to Schefter - that leaves Alexander as an unlikely fit for the team at this point.
