Minnesota Vikings land different QB in 2011 NFL re-draft from PFF
PFF has been running a summer series for several weeks now, and they have gone back and re-drafted several classes from the NFL Draft. Next up for them is the 2011 NFL Draft, which produced several Hall of Famers and will be remembered as one of the best classes of this generation.
Nine players were selected to Pro Bowls or All-Pros at the top of the 2011 NFL Draft before the Vikings had a chance to make their selection. They ended up drafting Florida State quarterback Christian Ponder, who played four years with the team before moving on.
PFF decided to give the Vikings Andy Dalton as the next quarterback after him to be selected.
The TCU Horned Frogs quarterback lasted until round two of the draft, and he remains in the NFL to this day. While he has jumped around the NFL in recent years, he led the Bengals to playoffs several times and helped turn the franchise around after years of mediocrity.
While the results with the Vikings could be projected, he would have been a significant upgrade from what Ponder was for them.
