Plaza Hotel & Casino In Las Vegas Offers Stay For A Cause To Help Kids
The Plaza Hotel & Casino is in downtown Las Vegas. The Plaza Hotel & Casino is a popular place to stay in the heart of downtown Las Vegas. Through the end of 2025, they have partnered with St. Jude's Ranch for Children in Southern Nevada to offer guests a program called Stay for a Cause. There are a variety of rooms available at the Plaza Hotel & Casino. How this works is simple. Any guest who books a room via the Stay for a Cause hotel package at the Plaza Hotel & Casino and checks in prior to December 31, 2025, will have 20 percent of their room rate automatically donated to St. Jude's Ranch for Children, a nonprofit organization that provides healing and hope to abused and at-risk children. 'St. Jude's Ranch for Children is a successful local charity that was established in 1966 to help provide healing and hope to abused and at-risk children specifically in Southern Nevada,' Gary Vickery, the vice president of operations at the Plaza Hotel & Casino, told me. 'The Plaza has previously held toy drives to benefit St. Jude's Ranch for Children, and we wanted to expand our partnership this year. With Stay for a Cause, guests can enjoy a great vacation at the Plaza and together we can make a difference in our local community at the same time.' The team at St. Jude's Ranch for Children shared with me that they are so grateful for this opportunity. Dr. Christina Vela, the CEO of St. Jude's Ranch for Children, explained, 'This innovative partnership with the Plaza Hotel & Casino exemplifies the power of community collaboration. The Stay for a Cause initiative not only provides support for our mission but also allows visitors to Las Vegas to become active participants in creating positive change.' Dr. Vela added, 'By choosing to stay at the Plaza, guests are directly contributing to our efforts in breaking cycles of abuse and neglect, offering hope and healing to vulnerable children. Vickery also shared his adoration for the organization, noting, 'What I love most about St. Jude's Ranch for Children is the incredible impact they have on the lives of vulnerable children and young adults in Nevada—something I deeply connect with, having been adopted at nine after experiencing abuse and a parent's addiction. Their work transforms lives by providing stability and hope.' Vickery wanted to make it clear that guests aren't required or even asked to many an additional donation. Twenty percent of the proceeds from their room reservation are automatically donated to St. Jude's Ranch for Children, so they are supporting a great cause simply by booking their stay. Also, while guests are encouraged to focus on enjoying their getaway, some do want to get more involved with St. Jude's Ranch once they learn about it. So, for Las Vegas vacationers who want to make a deeper impact, Vickery said that additional materials are provided with each reservation, offering opportunities to learn more about the work of the ranch. Dr. Vela said that you can learn more about volunteer opportunities, making a monetary donation, or sending something to fulfill a child's wish list by visit the St. Jude's Ranch website.
