A Manitoba woman got a surprising but welcome visitor in her front yard.
Christine Paddock had been sitting in the living room of her home in Rivers, Man., on Wednesday. She went to open the window to let some air in, and that is when she saw it.
'I opened it, and all I saw was a moose standing there,' she said. 'I kind of snuck onto my porch and onto my deck very quietly and tried to get a few pictures as he was walking to the fields.'
The young moose sauntered through her yard and into the nearby field before heading off.

Paddock has lived in her home, located northeast of Brandon, for the past 25 years.
'There are moose around. We don't see them very often, though,' she said, noting she usually just sees their tracks.
That's what made this chance encounter so exciting.
'It's just an exciting gift when you get to see wildlife unexpectedly like that,' she said.
She shared her photos on Facebook, hoping to encourage other nature lovers.
'I personally love when I see wildlife, and it's a rare thing, so it's fun to share,' she said.
