‘Glam As You Are' event offers different kind of Pride experience
The first 'Glam As You Are' event was held in Cambridge, Ont. on June 12, 2025.
A new event in Cambridge, Ont. is giving people a chance to celebrate Pride in a different way.
The first 'Glam As You Are' event was held at Under the Whispering Pines on Thursday.
'We created an alternative to traditional Pride events,' Christine Wolfl, Glam As You Are cofounder, said. 'Sometimes that might seem a little bit loud, sometimes for people who don't love crowds – [it's] a little bit more curated, maybe quieter, for people who are crowd-anxious, neurodivergent. It's a soulful Pride evening.'
The experience included a cocktail hour, photo sessions, a beauty bar and a red carpet arrival thanks to a limo shuttle service that transported guests from a nearby carpool lot.
Proceeds from the event are going to Grand River Pride.
'Grand River Pride's been around for about three years,' Bryan Causarano-Bolton, Grand River Pride cofounder, said. 'We are the hosts of Cambridge Pride Week, which is on now. This is one of the bigger events that we have in the lineup.'
Grand River Pride is getting ready for their big street party coming up on Saturday.
