Man charged with assaulting corrections officer in the Broome County jail
A Broome County man has been accused of attacking a corrections officer while being booked at the Broome County jail.
Christopher A. Dickinson, 58, was brought to the Broome County Correctional Facility at about 1:15 a.m. June 15 by Village of Johnson City Police after being taken into custody and accused of second-degree criminal mischief, a felony, according to the Broome County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office alleged that minutes later, at 1:20 a.m. during the booking procedure, Dickinson punched a female corrections sergeant in the face.

The sergeant was transported to UHS Wilson Medical Center with a fractured nose.
Dickinson was charged with assault on a peace officer, a felony, in connection with the alleged attack. He was arraigned at central arraignment and remanded to the Broome County Correctional Facility.
