US Singer Brown Remanded In Custody Until June In UK Assault Case
R&B singer
Chris Brown
has been remanded in custody following a court appearance in connection with an alleged bottle attack at a London nightclub in 2023.
The American artist was arrested in the early hours of Thursday at a Manchester hotel and has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.
Chris Brown appeared before
Manchester Magistrates' Court
on Friday, where he was remanded in custody until his next hearing on June 13.
The charges stem from an alleged incident at a Mayfair nightclub in central London in February 2023.

During the hearing, Chris Brown—dressed in black tracksuit bottoms and a plain T-shirt—confirmed his full name as Christopher Maurice Brown and stated his date of birth. When asked for his address, he listed The Lowry Hotel.
District Judge Joanne Hirst announced that the case would be transferred to
Southwark Crown Court
in London, as the charge of grievous bodily harm with intent was too serious for a magistrates' court to handle. The next hearing is scheduled for June 13. Brown did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody.
Outside Manchester Magistrates' Court, fans gathered to show their support. One fan, Candy, 35, from Manchester, shared with the BBC that she canceled her plans to be there. A devoted follower since the age of 14, she said she couldn't sleep after hearing about his arrest.
'I'm just here to support him,' she said. 'I love his music, his voice. I think he could have been the next MJ. Even my children are fans now.'
The Go Crazy singer is scheduled to tour the UK in June and July, with performances lined up at Manchester's Co-Op Live and Cardiff's Principality Stadium.
