Oil Bowl: Christopher Reay able to coach with former teammate
WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — The Memorial girls basketball coach, Christopher Reay is reunited with his college teammate, Drew Coffman, at the Oil Bowl. 'Drew and I were college teammates at Midwestern (State University), so this us going to be fun just getting to be around him for the day and to be on the sidelines together,' Christopher Reay said. 'We have not had the opportunity to coach against each other yet, so it will be fun to be on the same team. I am really excited about that.' The duo were lethal on the hardwood as Mustangs; together they averaged over 24 points per game. Even though it has been a couple of years since the two of them have played together, there is no doubt that they will be in sync. 'We kind of grew up in the same kind of coaching background,' Reay said. 'I think that is part of the reason why we played so well together. We kind of are on the same train of thought. As a basketball coach, you always beg, borrow, and steal when it comes to ideas and philosophies; we have always been in touch that way.'
