CRIME STOPPERS: $59k withdrawn from victim's bank following vehicle burglary
MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- The Midland Police Department has asked for help from the community to identify suspects involved in multiple vehicle burglaries and forgery cases.
According to Midland Crime Stoppers, over the past couple of months, several agencies across the state have been investigating vehicle burglaries which, subsequently, evolved into forgery cases. Crime Stoppers said the suspects have broken into vehicles and have stolen checks, debit/credit cards, Social Security cards, and driver's licenses. Afterward, the suspects traveled to a different city to cash checks belonging to the victims. They've also used the stolen identification cards to gain access to the victim's checking and savings accounts to withdraw money.
During one specific incident, which occurred on April 13, the suspects went to the Midland Country Club and Racquet Club and burglarized several vehicles. After that, they reportedly drove to Lubbock and used stolen documents to withdraw about $59,500 from the victim's bank account.
The suspects were seen driving a gray Chrysler Pacifica Minivan with an unknown license plate number. With the information gathered, Crime Stoppers said investigators believe male suspects committed the burglaries and later provided the checks to female suspects, who withdrew money from the banks. You'll find available images of the suspects below.
Anyone with information has been asked to call Crime Stoppers at 432-694-TIPS and reference case number 250416024. If your anonymous tip leads to an arrest, it could be worth a $1,000 case reward. You may also submit your tips online or by using the P3 TIPS mobile app.
