Chum Darang On Having No Dialogue In Gangubai Kathiawadi: ‘I'll Never Be Ashamed'

Chum Darang, who shot to fame after her stint in Bigg Boss 18, recently opened up about working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the 2022 film Gangubai Kathiawadi, starring Alia Bhatt. Chum said that it was a dream come true for her, and revealed that he is very serious when it comes to his work. She also expressed that despite having no dialogue in the film, she is proud to have been part of it, and refuses to be ashamed of that. She said that many people questioned her for including the film in her filmography, since she has no dialogues, but she said that she values the opportunity and the film is a 'big deal' for her. In a conversation with Zoom, Chum Darang said, 'Many times this has happened that people would literally message and tell me that 'There's not even one dialogue of yours in the film (Gangubai Kathiawadi). Why are you talking about that film? Why are you putting that in your work link?' But for me, being a part of that film is a big deal. Nobody would understand that, but for me, it is. And I will never be ashamed of being a part of that film. Even though there was no dialogue of mine. It's okay, I am ready to own it." She also shared her experience of working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, saying it's natural to feel nervous around him. 'It's very 'wow' but also you will be a bit nervous around him because he is very serious when it comes to his work. So that is something I have learnt from him. Like be very friendly, but when it comes to work, you have to be serious. Because this is something that is going to go out. At first I felt like I'm dreaming. I was very proud of myself. Seeing somebody on screen and you finally get to work with him, it's like a dream. It happened, and I made that possible," she said. Apart from Gangubai Kathiawadi, Chum Darang has also been a part of the 2022 film Badhaai Do, starring Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar. She also had a small role in the 2020 series 'Paatal Lok'.
