A driver struck and killed a 72-year-old Northfield woman riding a bicycle on Saturday.
Northfield Police Department says Oldsmobile Aurora was traveling west on Woodley Street when the driver collided with a bicyclist who was going south on Water Street at around 6:50 p.m.
The bicyclist, identified as 72-year-old Chunfeng Chu of Northfield, was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center, where she later died.
The driver of the Oldsmobile was identified as a 56-year-old Northfield man. He was uninjured in the crash.
Northfield PD says Chu was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Travelers on Woodley Street have the right of way, with Water Street controlled by stop signs.
