Statesboro Police make drug and firearms arrests
STATESBORO, Ga. (WSAV) — Statesboro Police Department officers conducted foot patrols the night of March 15 in the area of Lanier Drive. They observed a vehicle with its doors open and noticed the smell of marijuana. They conducted a probable cause search that resulted in marijuana and three (3) firearms, one of which was equipped with a 'Glock switch' designed to convert the handgun from semi-automatic to fully automatic. That is in violation of Federal and State law.
Two people were arrested. Cincere Quarterman, 21, of Ludowici, Ga., was charged with 1 count of possession of an unlawful weapon and 1 count of possession of marijuana (less than one ounce.) Sayveon Hall, 23, of Pooler, Ga., was charged with 1 count of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon or First Offender and 1 count of Possession of Marijuana (less than one ounce). Quarterman and Hall were taken to Bulloch County Jail.
