Kroger Posts Lower Profit, Sales
Kroger KR -0.65%decrease; red down pointing triangle logged lower profit and sales in its latest quarter, though the company slightly raised its 2025 same-store sales outlook on recent sales momentum despite an uncertain macroeconomic environment.
The Cincinnati supermarket chain on Friday posted net income of $866 million, or $1.29 a share, for its three months ended May 24, compared with $947 million, or $1.29 a share, a year earlier. Kroger had about 664 million shares outstanding at the end of the recent quarter, compared with about 727 million a year earlier.
