Illinois man dies in one-car crash on Will Rogers Turnpike
MIAMI, Okla. — A one-car fatal crash on the Will Rogers Turnpike Thursday has claimed the life of an Illinois man, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Landon Hughes, 20, of Belleville, Illinois, was taken to Mercy Joplin in critical condition, where he later died, the patrol said.
The cause of the crash, which happened around 3 p.m. at mile marker 317, about three miles northeast of Miami, is under investigation.
The driver, Cindy Diliberto, 37, and a 16-year-old female, both of Belleville, were taken to Mercy Hospital in stable condition, but they were not admitted, the patrol said.
Diliberto was driving a 2019 Chevy Cruz.
