Cannes Film Festival Adds Jennifer Lawrence, Robert Pattinson's ‘Die, My Love' and Kristen Stewart's ‘Chronology of Water' to 2025 Lineup
The Cannes Film Festival has added several titles to the official selection, including Lynne Ramsay's 'Die, My Love,' a thriller starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson, as well as Kristen Stewart's 'The Chronology of Water' in Un Certain Regard and Ethan Coen's 'Honey Don't!' in the midnights section.
Other additions to the official selection are Saeed Roustaee's 'Mother and Child' in competition; Anna Cazenave Cambet's 'Love Me Tender,' Simón Mesa Soto's 'Un Poeta' and Pedro Pinho's 'O Riso E A Faca (Le Rire et le Couteau') in Un Certain Regard; 'Kōji Fukada's 'Renai Saiban,' Hlynur Pálmason's 'Ástin Sem Eftir Er,' Lav Diaz's 'Magalhães' in premiere; and Vincent Maël Cardona's 'Le Roi Soleil' in midnights.

'Die, My Love' was screened for the Cannes committee after the festival's official press conference on April 10, during which chief Thierry Fremaux unveiled the lineup. Based on Ariana Harwicz's debut novel, Ramsay's adaptation of 'Die, My Love' is set in rural America and revolves around Lawrence's character, a woman who has just had a baby and is engulfed by love and madness, to which her husband (Pattinson) appears oblivious. It marks Ramsay's comeback to the Croisette after presenting the 2017 thriller 'You Were Never Really Here,' which starred Joaquin Phoenix and won best screenplay.
Joining Mascha Schilinski ('Sound of Falling'), Carla Simón ('Romería'), Kelly Reichardt ('The Mastermind'), Hafsia Herzi ('La Petite Dernière') and Julia Ducournau ('Alpha'), Ramsay will be the seventh woman director whose film will play in competition this year — a record number for the Cannes Film Festival.
Hollywood will have a large presence at this 78th edition. Alongside the key cast of 'Die, My Love,' the fest will bring Tom Cruise for the premiere of 'Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning;' Spike Lee's 'Highest 2 Lowest' with star Denzel Washington; Jodie Foster, who stars in Rebecca Zlotowski's out-of-competition crime comedy 'Vie Privée;' Josh O'Connor, who headlines Kelly Reichardt's heist movie 'The Mastermind' and Oliver Hermanus' romance 'The History of Sound' alongside Paul Mescal; Joaquin Phoenix, Emma Stone, Pedro Pascal and Austin Butler, who feature in Aster's 'Eddington'; and the cast of Anderson's 'The Phoenician Scheme,' which includes Benicio del Toro, Michael Cera, Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston, Riz Ahmed, Benedict Cumberbatch and Scarlett Johansson. The latter will also be at Cannes with her directorial debut, 'Eleanor the Great,' in Un Certain Regard section.
The Cannes Film Festival will take place May 13-24.
