Only Surviving Member of 'The Monkees' Shares Exciting News: 'Mind-Blowing'

When you think 60s pop rock, you think of The Monkees. The band reached icon status for their multiple chart-topping hits back in the day, including "I'm a Believer," "Last Train to Clarksville," and "Daydream Believer." Since the band's breakup in the 70s, they've seen several reunions until the untimely passing of all members of the band, aside from drummer Micky Dolenz. Dolenz has been spending the past three years touring and celebrating the Monkees, and he has some exciting news to share. Dolenz will be taking over the Boston City Winery for a couple nights for what he's calling a "cultural experience." Fans showed their support in the comments of the post. "He's still doing great good for him. 🥰" "Micky's shows are an absolute must-see!!" "Mind-blowing!!! He's 80!!!! He's been making people smile for several decades. 😀 A true living legend. ✨️⭐️✨️" It seems that in the fans eyes, Dolenz has only gotten better with age. If I wasn't before, I'm a believer now. Tickets are on sale for the City Winery shows, so get yours before they sell out!🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬

Celebrate Mother's Day in Mass.: Nine activities around the state - and one on Cape Cod

As April comes to a close, Mother's Day is getting closer, this year falling on Sunday, May 11. While many celebrate Mother's Day with sentimental gifts, others may be looking for an activity to celebrate the women in their lives. Luckily, Massachusetts has plenty of fun outings that mom, aunt or grandma would enjoy. Whether the mother figures in your life like live music, a nice meal, outdoor activities or simple relaxation, the Bay State is sure to have the perfect Mother's Day activity for all. Here are 10 things to do for Mother's Day in Massachusetts. If mom is a fan of flowers, consider taking her to the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University on Mother's Day. From 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on May 11, the arboretum is hosting Lilac Sunday, a celebration of spring and mothers with over 400 blooming lilac plants, live dance performances, guided tours and a meditation station. For this one day only, guests are also welcome to picnic on the arboretum's grounds, providing the perfect opportunity for a nice meal with mom. This event is free, but interested parties should register online. While Mother's Day brunch is offered at tons of restaurants in Massachusetts, City Winery in Boston puts a unique spin on the meal by adding a musical element. Back for the fourth year, this jazzy brunch will include timeless classics and snappy originals from the six-piece band of The Rubin Brothers, both graduates of Berklee College of Music. City Winery's Mother's Day Jazz Brunch will take place at noon on Sunday, May 11. Tickets cost $20-40 depending on selected seats. Pamper mom this Mother's Day with a relaxing spa retreat. Canyon Ranch Lenox, an award-winning spa resort in the Berkshires, is celebrating moms this year with "The Art of Beauty Weekend," a weekend-long workshop dedicated to discovering self-care. Lasting from May 8-12, this special spa program will include workshops like an aromatherapy blending bar, a makeup masterclass, a cooking class, a dry nail bar and a wildflower hike. Reservations can be made online. Spas in MA: This MA town is home to two of the best spas in the country, Conde Nast says. Here's where Does mom love to shop? In addition to various malls and outlets throughout Massachusetts, Boston is home to many marketplaces that make for the perfect Mother's Day shopping experience. The South End's SoWa Open Market, open every Sunday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., is an outdoor artisan market with hand-made clothing, jewelry, art, gourmet foods and baked goods. When you're done shopping, the SoWa art and design district has plenty of art galleries, boutiques and restaurants to check out. Over in the downtown area of the city is Boston Public Market, a year-round indoor marketplace featuring over 30 New England-based artisans and food producers. From Friday, May 9 through Sunday, May 11, the market is hosting a special Mother's Day Shopping Market, featuring goods like kitchen and home accessories, stationery, houseplants, flowers and food from plenty of local vendors. For moms who would love a day on the water, City Cruises hosts Mother's Day cruises through Boston Harbor for both brunch and lunch. Both events include an extensive food buffet, a live DJ, a balloon artist, a cash bar, a flower for mom and a complimentary glass of champagne or mimosa for those over 21. The brunch cruise starts at $105 and sails from noon until 2 p.m., while the lunch cruise starts at $85 and sails from 1-3 p.m. Tickets for both cruises can be purchased online. If mom is a wine lover, treat her to a fancy day of wine tasting. Lucille Wine Shop & Tasting Room, a women-owned wine store for organic and natural wines on the North Shore, is hosting a special Mother's Day Wine Tasting from 1:30-4 p.m. on May 11. Tickets to the wine tasting, which cost $40 per person, include a flight of four natural wines from California and a signature charcuterie board. Extra snacks or desserts can be added for an additional cost. Mother's Day 2025: Reminder: Mother's Day is coming up. Here's when the holiday is in 2025 Moms can celebrate Mother's Day with the whole family at Duckling Day Parade, a parade of young children dressed as ducklings along the path from the classic children's book "Make Way for Ducklings." Bring mom to watch the adorable parade, or register your family's own little one to waddle through Boston and enjoy mini games, activity booths and live music at the Boston Common. If mom is a big Boston sports fan, there is no better way to celebrate spring than a Red Sox game. While there are no games at Fenway Park on Mother's Day, there are plenty during the weeks before and after the holiday. A full schedule of Red Sox games, as well as tickets, can be found online. Want to treat mom like a queen? Take her to Mother's Day Afternoon Tea at Old Sturbridge Village. Located inside the museum's Ox & Yoke Cafe, this event will feature an assortment of teas and small bites in a classically elegant atmosphere full of linens and flowers. Food options include a shrimp salad sandwich with avocado ranch, a triple chocolate espresso scone and a cheesecake with pineapple preserve, while tea options include New England Breakfast, Boston Harbor and a special Mother's Day herbal blend. Tickets for Mother's Day Tea, which need to be reserved online, cost $60.95 for non-members or $54.86 for members. Time slots are available at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on May 10 and 11. The variety is just as beneficial for the artists themselves, who might have the chance to curate a bill that combines contrasting genres in a way that's atypical of club shows, which tend to be more stylistically cohesive.
