Bridge Street Bridge in Corning set to temporarily close Sunday morning
CORNING, N.Y. (WETM) — If the Bridge Street Bridge in Corning is part of your driving route, you may want to plan to use a different one on Sunday morning.
The Bridge Street Bridge, located in the City of Corning, will be temporarily closed between Riverside Drive and Front Street on Sunday, June 1, from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m., according to the City of Corning Department of Public Works (DPW).
Paving to begin in the City of Elmira in June
The reason being, DPW announced it's teaming up with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) for an 'Annual Flood Protection Exercise', which involves preparing the bridge with necessary precautions in case of potential flooding.
Both agencies are set to put in short-term flood control devices on the bridge during this time.
