Annual 4th of July Western Sky Balloon Festival to arrive in Delta
DELTA, Colo. (KREX) — From Friday, July 4 to Sunday, July 6, the city of Delta will host the 3rd annual 4th of July Western Sky Balloon Festival. The festival will be held at Confluence Park, located at Gunnison River Drive in Delta. The event will start at 6 a.m. on all three days and will end after 9:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, while ending after 7:30 a.m. on Sunday.
The festival kickoff movie night event will take place on Thursday, July 3rd, at 9 p.m. at the True View Drive-In.
The 4th of July Western Sky Balloon Festival will feature 20 hot air balloons piloted by pilots across several states.
The festival will offer morning hot air balloon liftoffs, tether rides, a drone show, skydiving community breakfasts, a craft fair, a beer garden, food trucks, fireworks and more.
Tether rides and hot balloon ascensions will depend on the weather. Each tether ride will be $10 and the proceeds will benefit the Delta Fire Department.
