Foundation ceremonies planned in Jaipur ahead of civic election

Jaipur: With civic polls in Rajasthan, including elections to the Jaipur Municipal Corporation, scheduled for Nov-Dec 2025, a flurry of foundation stone-laying ceremonies and project inaugurations is being lined up in the state capital over the next three to four months. According to officials familiar with the developments, the government is planning a series of public programmes around these events, aiming to boost voter sentiment ahead of the elections. "There will be foundation stone-laying programmes for two to four elevated roads. Among these, the Sanganer Elevated Road and Goplapura Bypass Road Elevated Road may take place in Aug. In addition, the govt may lay foundation stones in Jhotwara and at the Apex Circle in Mansarovar, and for the flyover at the OTS Chouraha," said an official. The Urban Development and Housing Department is also keen on laying the foundation stone for the Metro Line 2 by Diwali this year. The state govt already approved the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Line 2 and forwarded the DPR for final approval. Meanwhile, chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma instructed the Jaipur Metro Railway Corporation (JMRC) to complete all formalities to float a tender for the work order by Aug 2025. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch CFD với công nghệ và tốc độ tốt hơn IC Markets Tìm hiểu thêm Undo "The state govt sent requests to Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) to complete the Civil Line Railway Overbridge Project by Diwali this year. The govt wants to inaugurate this long-pending project before the civic polls, if possible," said a JDA official. In addition, the focus is on wooing voters from the panchayat areas, which will come under the jurisdiction of JMC during this election. Officials said JMC can't officially interfere in these areas as they will remain under panchayats' jurisdiction until the election. "Since these areas fall under the ambit of JDA, the govt asked JDA to carry out development works that fall under the scope of the civic body," another official added.
