Machete seized after reports of street fight
Police have arrested four teenagers and seized a machete following a fight in a street in Nottingham. Officers were called to reports of an altercation in Berridge Road West, in Forest Fields, at about 16:00 BST on Monday. Nottinghamshire Police received another call a short time later reporting a machete had been dropped underneath a car in nearby Brushfield Street. Two men, aged 18 and 19, and two 17-year-old boys were arrested on suspicion of affray and remain in custody, the force added. DCI Claire Gould said: "Violence like this can always expect to be met with a determined response from the force and I hope members of the community welcome these arrests." Two boys arrested after rifle sighting on roof
Two teenagers have been arrested after a reported sighting of a rifle with a telescopic scope prompted armed police response. Officers were called to reports of two individuals holding the weapon on the roof of a building in Radford Road, New Basford in Nottingham, shortly after 20:00 BST on Tuesday. A police helicopter was also deployed and two boys - aged 15 and 16 - had been arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. No-one has been injured and searches are ongoing to locate the weapon which is believed to be an imitation firearm, police added. Det Ch Insp Claire Gould said: "This will have no doubt caused great alarm to the person who called this in as well as to the surrounding community, but we hope the swift way we reacted provides the public with some reassurance. "Within a few minutes of attending the scene, officers from our Armed Policing Unit, assisted by our colleagues at NPAS, managed to locate two suspects and bring them under arrest." Two further arrests after fight in Nottingham city centre

Boy charged after stabbing at Primark store
A teenager has been charged following a stabbing in a Nottingham city centre shop. A 17-year-old boy suffered a wound to his chest inside Primark in Long Row at about 11:30 GMT on Sunday. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries but they are not currently believed to be life-threatening, police said. A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, has been charged with wounding with intent and possession of a bladed article in a public place and has been remanded into custody. He is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court later on Monday. Det Ch Insp Claire Gould said: "We understand the alarm this incident has caused and I'd like to reassure the public we have been working at pace to build a full picture of what had happened – and why. "I am pleased we have now been able to charge a suspect in this case. "As we continue to progress with our investigation, we are still urging anyone who has information which could assist us with our inquiries, who hasn't already come forward, to please contact us as soon as possible."
