who famously starred alongside Elvis Presley
- died from respiratory failure at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York, on Monday.
Hutchins was revered for his role as Tom Brewster—the good-natured marksman and pioneering solicitor—
in the ABC series Sugarfoot.
His tenure as the beloved character spanned 69 episodes from 1957 to 1961.
Barbara Torres, Hutchins' wife, reflected fondly on her husband's influence, speaking with The Hollywood Reporter: "He was hysterical, everyone loved him," she commented. "He had a great sense of humor, and it never gave up on him."

His inaugural appearance on the screen was marked by a 1956 episode of Warner Bros. ' anthology series, Conflict.
Proving his versatility, Hutchins graced television sets as Woody Banner in the 1966-67 NBC sitcom Hey, Landlord, summoned into existence by the minds of Garry Marshall and Jerry Belson. A couple of leaps forward found him stepping into the shoes of Dagwood Bumstead in the CBS comedy series Blondie.
On the silver screen, Hutchins shone beside none other than Elvis Presley in Spinout (1966) and Clambake (1967), musical masterpieces of their time. In Clambake, audiences were treated to Hutchins' lip-synced duet with the legendary Crooner in the comedic tune Who Needs Money?
Reflecting on his experience alongside Elvis Presley, Hutchins compared it to a cinematic transformation: "Working with Elvis was kinda like Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, leaving a sepia-colored farm and entering the three-strip Technicolor world of Oz. It was just magnificent."

He continued by expressing fond memories of the icon: "Elvis couldn't have been a nicer guy, one of my favorite actors that I ever worked with. He was so natural and so much fun."

Hutchins' career saw him take on minor roles in films such as Magnum Force (1973), The Happy Hooker Goes to Washington (1977), and Roar (1981). Later, he would trade the glitz of Hollywood for circus life, becoming a ringmaster for a clown troupe based out of Los Angeles.
Hutchins fathered a daughter during his first marriage to Chrissie Burnett, which lasted from 1965 until 1969. He eventually walked down the aisle with Torres in 1988 after about a year's courtship.
