Robinson, West Potomac boys book tickets to Virginia soccer tournament
There was little about Tuesday's Class 6 Region C boys' soccer semifinal between Robinson and Lewis that felt normal. The matchup saw two of the area's most experienced teams face off at one of the most important stages of the playoffs, in which teams vie for a state tournament berth and an opportunity to win a region championship trophy without the threat of elimination.

South Lakes retained four-star Michigan state signee Jordan Scott after winning the program's first state title last winter, but the Seahawks had plenty of work to do in order to have a chance of repeating this season. South Lakes lost 11 players from last year's title-winning team, but the returners who saw what it took to win a state championship slowly adapted to larger roles. South Lakes showcased that growth in a win against No. 14 Hayfield in Tuesday's state quarterfinal, a result that allowed it to host Friday's Virginia Class 6 semifinal against Virginia Beach's Landstown.
